My Evening Skincare Routine

Until a year ago I was very lazy when it came to skincare, I didn't have a routine and I basically just took my makeup off and left it at that. Nowadays I actually find myself buying and focusing more on skincare items and I have actually created a routine that I carry out every evening.

Cleanser// I've tried quite a few different cleansers, my current favourite is the Ren Clearcalm 3 Clarifying Cleanser. Other favourites include the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and the Ren Mayblossom T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel. I usually remove my makeup before the cleansing step.

Toner// I'm yet to find a toner that actually does something and that I really like. I'm currently using the Cleanance Toner from Avene. It feels refreshing yet soothing on the skin.

Moisturiser// This was always one step that I skipped. I have oily skin, so when I was younger I thought if I didn't put on moisturiser my skin would be less oily - how wrong was I? I make sure I moisturise every night now, I'm currently using the Liz Earle Skin Care Repair Light Moisturiser which is my favourite moisturiser. As it is a light moisturiser it doesn't make my skin greasy.

These are the 3 basic steps that I carry out every night. There are also some extras that I add into my routine 2 or 3 evenings per week.

Oil// A recent addition to my evening skincare routine is the Lotus Face Treatment Oil from Clarins. I used to think putting oil on oily skin would lead to a disaster but this oil is amazing and leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth.

Mask// I use a face mask twice a week and it's almost always the Super Facialist by Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask. This mask is perfect to for when your skin feels greasy or is your have any breakouts. Another mask I've been loving is the Origins Out Of Trouble Mask, I recently got a sample of it and may just have to buy the full size.

Spot Treatment// The newest addition to my skincare routine is the Origins Super Spot Remover. This was on my wish list for ages and I finally bought it last week. I've only used it a couple of times so far but it has been good a reducing the size of spots and helping to clear them up. Only the tiniest bit is needed so this will probably last me quite a while.

Having a skincare routine is definitely helping to keep my skin clear. It looks like I'm going to be as addicted to buying skincare items as I am to buying makeup.
